Sonovoid Round is an economical way to form voids in concrete floor and roof slabs, bridge decks, beams and piles. Projects require less concrete, steel and supporting material, without sacrificing structural integrity and strength.
In flat-plate slabs using Sonovoid Round, the reduced dead load and increased stiffness of the flat-plate slab may improve overall economy. Voiding flat-plate slabs allows greater design flexibility, permitting longer spans, better utilization of space, and greater freedom in locating partitions. Flush beams can simplify the installation of electrical, plumbing and heating systems. In many cases, construction itself is faster as larger areas can be formed and poured at once using less concrete.
